EXILE sang at 20th anniversary of Emperor enthronement

exEXILE sang a song at 20th anniversary of Emperor enthronement, today’s news reported. As I’m not in Japan, I don’t know the music group EXILE well.  As far as I see the photo of them, it needs a little brave heart to say that they look like just attitude.  Maybe the fans will not like this expression.

But this fact tells us the pass of the time in these 20 years.

When the present Emperor enthroned 20 years ago, it was totally impossible to imagine the music group with leather jacket and sunglasses would sing for the Emperor’s ceremony.

But it happened today in frontof many celebrities and Japanese nation. EXILE is said to be the most popular singers group in Japan especiallyfor young girls. For example, in Britain, Sir Paul McCartney or Eric Clapton sang songs at the same kind of ceremony. But both of them were acclaimed musicians in the world, nobody doubts their gifted talent. They got order of Great Britain from Queen.   To be honest, we can’t compare EXILE and Paul or Eric.  The status among them is really different from a social point of view.

When the Beatles first appeared in UK, they all looked down on them saying it’s just noisy. But they changed the world and adults who denied them got down on their knees for their irreplaceable talent. After all, one of the member, Paul, sang for Her Majesty about 40 years later.

Like that, the news of EXILE might tell us a revolutionary time of Japan. I really can’t imagine what the scene over in Japan was like today, being far away from Japan now.
