SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI added a very unique new model, TRAX.  As you see in the photo, TRAX is a kind of PLUG IN type with snow caterpillars instead of using standard tyres.  SUBARU says this is the fastest snow vehicle in the world.

This model was released publically in the SEMA show in Las Vegas.

TRAX seems to have invented by Vermont Sports Car Ltd., the partner company of SUBARU USA. Also this model is said to be the One-Off model.

All the car makers including Japanese brand reported the sales amount reduction till this year from the finacial crisis starts. But only SUBARU made a great increase in sales in the term January – September 2009 by 10.2 % compared to the last year.

Actually this model, TRAX, looks focused target marketing for outdoor users only. I don’t know if this could make enough profit, though, news says that the positive result of the sales allows such a risky trial.
