DAI MIYATA won Mstislav Rostropovich CELLO Award

Mstislav Rostropovich Cello contest was not familiar to me. Moreover, I didn’t have much concern with Cello. Today, DAI MIYATA won the 1st prize at Mstislav Rostropovich cello contest held in Paris, Japanese news reported.

I personally like sound of cello. For example, Joe Hisaishi often uses cello as solo & leading instrument in small orchestra, which makes a very nice atmosphere in the space. Cello originally has melancholic sound quality, in addition, composers like Joe can make the more spacey depth into tunes with cello music.

However, I’ve focused mainly on the Piano or Violin as the leading instruments in any music. Some players on the music instruments are familiar to me, but DAI MIYATA is the first person for me to know as a cello player. Also the cello contest has long been out of my interest.

As I like the sound of cello, this news is a good motivation for me to know cello again.
