Recently the biggest topic about domestic business is probably the reconstruction plan of Japan Air Lines ( JAL ).

JAL has large amount of accumulated deficits.  It’s a national airlines that represent Japan, so maybe it’s a hard decision for Japanese government to lead them to bunkruptcy although it was already privatized many years ago.  If it’s an average private company, they can’t run the company any more.

I’m not an analyst.  But as far as I know some of the JAL workers, I must say they are really out of common sense. They dress well and eat at so expensive restaurants, what’s more, their mind exudes something snobbish enough to tell us ” We are different from you, ordinary people. I work for JAL”.  This kind of snob attitude attached us any time when JAL’s company members speak to us. 

Maybe not such a bad impression on business. Once they leave the office and when they are among ” ordinary people”, they become top class people suddenly.

JAL is famous for it’s rude labour union. It’s too strong for directors to negotiate. The battles between the directors and union always eat cost.  JAL is also famous for its high salary, which is really rediculous as they are in deficits and needs more money from national tax. Why do we “ordinary people” need to pay them more tax ? Terrible workers !

Also, directors are said to be terrible. They are all related with Japanese government or bureaucratic. They don’t have to work hard because they can ask more money to tax controler, or Japanese government.

In this situation, reconstruction plan makes no sense. Actually we will be annoyed if JAL can’t live any more. Yet, ANA ( All Nippon Airways ) is private company and running condition is much better than JAL.  If JAL would bankrupt, we can expect a new private company to arise. It’s still better for us because we don’t have to pay tax for JAL any more, or for the top grade workers of JAL.
