Today ex-US president, George Bush, arrived in Japan. He seems to have been invited by a Japanese public political party. He went to Tokyo baseball dome and pitched an opening ball as Japan series opening ceremony. Probably many people got surprised to see him on the pitcher’s mound.
His trip to Japan was not announced enough, I don’t know why it was kept under secret like media control. Only some small news paper reported about his Japan visit before he comes, but major news papers or TVs kept silent by the time he arrives at the airport.
George Bush is not always a popular president for the Japanese either. Actually, when he was US president, Japanese prime minister was Junichiro Koizumi. Koizumi kept high supporting rate by Japanese nation while he was on the position, but now he also lost his popularity. Also many wonder what Koizumi really did when he was prime minister.
After Koizumi’s policy started, Japan began to face serious economy recession. Koizumi said that it would be fantastic country with his policy, but the result came out to be totally different.
Koizumi’s administration made confusion in Japanese diet. After he quits, all the prime minister after him struggled to get Japan back in the previous situation, but in vain.
As everybody know, after all Liberal Democratic Party, that Koizumi also belongs to, lost seriously at the last election and lost many party members.
Koizumi still shows optimistic face in public. It’s no strange because he is not a politician any more as he quit before the election.
George Bush and Koizumi are said to be the best friends for each other. It’s probably because their situations were really close and similar. Many Japanese don’t want to see Koizumi’s face any more.
Ex president Bush appeared at Tokyo baseball dome and he saw the game with Koizumi. I suppose many who saw THE COUPLE on TV got surprised or angry as all those bad memories boil their brain up.
