Today Ski Mogul or Free Style Ski competition for women was held at Vancouver Olympic. From Japanese team, I followed a player, AIKO UEMURA. For her, this is the 4th Olympic games and she has never won a medal before.
To be honest, her peak time was probably 2008. She got gold medal as annual season winner of world cup games then, and won many 1st prize among those competitions.
If the Olympic games were held then, she had more chance to get the medals.
But again, she missed the medal this time. She is now 30 years old and maybe this would be the last game for her.
The first time I saw her on TV, I thought she was just a easy young girl. But she looks a grown serious athlete now. Her face proves she walked on a hard truck, and she now looks glorious with her shining footprints.
She missed the medal, but she looks far greater skier than the first time I saw her. I really want to applause her when she again appears on TV at the airport of Tokyo.
