Ikebukuro New China Town in Tokyo

ikebukuroIn Japan, there is a famous and popular China Town in Yokohama. This is already a famous tour spot of Tokyo and Yokohama district. Foods are good there and the people working there are very in good harmony with Japanese people around them for a long history time.  Nobody denies this China town is a good place and it’s a successful aspect of Japan-China relationship.

Many of the world China town were formed because the Chinese people were taken to the places for the labor or servant of civilized people, European. But Yokohama China Town was formed through trading between Japan and China, so Chinese people moved to Yokohama for new chance of business then.

Now it’s controversial about the new China Town idea in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.  Originally Ikebukuro has many ethnic shops and restaurants,so the immigrants from the world, especially from Asian countries, are many there.  But Ikuebukuro has it’s own history and shoppers’ network is tight.  Chinese shops are many now and they are working under their own custom, which is often seen in the newly immigrated areas of Chinese people in the world.

We don’t especially talk about the Chinese China town, but for all the cases, the immigrants need to stay in the accepting countries rule. And the communication with the people there is the most important.  There seems to be some troubles between Japanese shops and China Town shops about this,  as far as the trouble are coming from lack of the communication, both sides need to approach.  Chinese people need to listen to Japanese rule there, and of course, the Japanese there have to talk with Chinese people for the better colabration as far as the China town is run under legal condition.

Anyway, I don’t know about the detail of this matter. So I can only tell the general opinion on this.

As Yokohama China Town has been successful, good communication is necessary for anybody.

When we were children in Japan, we all liked China. Probably we respected Chinese culture very much.  But as the media grows big, the different information always came from them.  Some often picked up only the troubles of 2 countries, rather than good relations.

AS far as people live, there is good and bad there.  We need to know many good things if we need to know one bad thing.
