Japanese Minister of Finance, Fujii, resigned today

fujiiMinister of Finance,  Hirohisa Fujii, submitted his paper of resignation to Prime Minister, Hatoyama, today and it was accepted.

I think he is one of the most capable person in this cabinet, but he will go.  It’s a sad news but there seems to be many hidden reasons about his decision.

Japanese leading party, Democratic Party, is a totally different one from the previous main party, leberal democratic party.  Leberal democratic party was formed just after the 2nd world war, and it kept the 1st leading party status for more than 50 years after the war.

It means that Japan had been led by the USA after the 2nd world war ended, and Japan always kept saying YES to the USA.  Japanese major companies, media, politicians, and bureaucrats are all influenced by the power of the USA.  That was a safe way for Japan and no other choice was possible under the 50 year unchanged situation.

Democratic party is now trying to reset the Japanese system for modern society’s standard.  But it affects a lot on the previous key persons who had benefit under the 50 year’s status.

Some say he, Hirohisa Fujii, are tired of the battle between them. Minister of the finance is the most important role in the government, and he is always attached by other parties, bureaucrats,  and even by media.

I don’t know the real reason, but next Minister of Finance, Naoto Kan ( he is already appointed ), will face the hardship again.   If he can’t stand the test, this cabinet will be damaged a lot.
