I’ve been away from Japan for a long time, so I don’t know much about Japanese new TV characters.  What I saw on a TV show of Japan after I came back was really incredible.

AKB48 seems to be a singer group with 48 teenager girl members.  All of them are not like professional singers, but they are just average high school girls of Japan. Producer’s attempt is really greedy, they again and again want money with new TV characters. This group was absolutely produced by such adult business man like producers.

But they are good at making money, so this strange idol group became one of the popular groups and they often appear on the Japanese TV show.

Some years ago, the same type group was produced by the same producer, Akimoto. He is not a professional type entertainment producer, he is always trying to catch eyes of teenagers or young boys by using pretty girls with short skirts or cute & sexy fashion. 

Onyanko Club was also produced by Yasushi Akimoto.

He is not a music producer but money trend producer of Japanese entertainment. So when I saw his name, I understood what kind of group this AKB48 was.

On the other hand, there is one more famous producer, Tsunku. Tsunku produced Morning Musume.  The difference between Tsunku and Akimoto is that Tsunku is a musician but Akimoto is just a business man for money.

Maybe AKB48 would keep popular status on Japanese TV shows, but sooner or later they will disappear as Onyanko Club did.

Again I got frustrated with Japanese TV programs soon after I came back in Japan.  I don’t say they should always broadcast programs for me or someone who look for good music or truth, but I’m always frustrated when I find no art like TV programs in Japan.  They are for money business first, which is often disappointing.
